Role Description
The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for strengthening local market presence through strategic partnerships, grassroots marketing initiatives, sponsorships, and community programs that drive brand awareness, consideration, and customer acquisition. This role translates national campaigns into hyperlocal activations that generate demand and support field sales growth. The Manager partners closely with various teams to execute high-impact community programs that strengthen brand reputation and increase subscriber growth. This position plays a critical role in positioning Astound as the most consumer-friendly, community-focused broadband provider in our markets.

Develops and executes local community engagement strategies aligned with company growth priorities (new build, MDU, market expansion, upgrades).

Identifies and secures strategic partnerships with schools, universities, chambers, local nonprofits, property managers, and community organizations.

Manages sponsorship portfolio and ensures measurable ROI.

Represents Astound at key community events and forums.

Supports government relations strategies.

Provides strategic guidance to local General Managers, working with PR agencies to set up interviews and other local spotlight opportunities.

Plans and executes grassroots activations including:

Street teams

Brand ambassadors

Campus activations
-
MDU events (lobby events, breakfast pop-ups, seasonal resident events)

Back to School / Fall Rush campaigns

Aligns event strategy with DSR (Direct Sales Rep) presence and local sales initiatives.

Ensures all activations integrate digital capture tactics (QR, retargeting, sweepstakes, email opt-ins).

Leads coordination of logistics, vendors, materials, and budget management.

Partners with Field Sales Managers and GTM to prioritize low-penetration buildings and new build zones.

Supports market expansion initiatives and localized launch events.

Aligns community programming with promotional strategy (Price for Life, flash sales, etc.).

Provides field teams with event kits, signage, and activation playbooks.

Collaborates with Social Media team to amplify community activations.

Partners with PR to leverage community involvement for earned media opportunities.

Works with Marketing Ops to track leads, performance metrics, and attribution.

Ensures brand standards and messaging consistency across all activations.

Manages community engagement budgets across assigned markets.

Tracks KPIs and delivers post-event performance reporting.

Optimizes spend based on ROI and subscriber impact.

Actively supports, promotes, and advances all aspects of Astoundβs Inclusion and Belonging work.

Qualifications

5β8+ years managing strategic marketing strategy in telecom, subscription, or high-volume acquisition businesses.

3+ years working in a competitive environment and/or with a challenger brand.

Experience managing $10M+ performance budgets preferred.

Experience leveraging AI tools to automate or enhance analysis is preferred.

Expertise in developing and executing full-funnel marketing strategies that drive measurable growth.

Advanced analytical, forecasting, and data-interpretation skills.

Proven ability to scale customer acquisition efficiently through data-driven optimization.

Strong proficiency in Excel and comfort working with large datasets.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Base Compensation
The base compensation range for this position is $85,000 - $137,000 plus opportunities for benefits. Actual pay will vary based on various factors including location, relevant skills, experience, and capabilities.
