Role Description

Lead the Web Services team in the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of UUA web applications and digital services. Serve as the primary point of contact for new project implementations, staff consulting on technology solutions, and the management of key web service vendors. Foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment that advances the mission and values of the UUA.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience managing or leading a technology team, including setting priorities, providing feedback, and supporting staff development.
• Proven ability to manage technology projects from initiation through delivery, including stakeholder communication and documentation.
• Strong interpersonal, consulting, and communication skills; able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences to understand needs and identify appropriate solutions.
• Broad familiarity with web technologies and modern application development practices sufficient to provide informed technical oversight.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities across multiple concurrent projects.
• Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
• Annual travel to General Assembly may be required.
• Familiarity with or understanding of the following is helpful but not required:
• Content management system like Drupal.
• Email marketing/transactional systems like SendGrid.
• Modern relational database solutions like AirTable.
• Web development languages including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL.
• Cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices (e.g., AWS, Azure, Linux server administration).
• Understanding of issues around anti-racism, anti-oppression, and multiculturalism.
• Work or lived experience with BIPOC communities is of particular value.
• Eagerness to work in an organization in which the dismantling of white supremacy is a high priority.

Requirements

• This is an exempt position with a salary midpoint of $91,400. Compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and geographical location, with offers potentially ranging from 10-15% higher or lower than the midpoint.
