How You’ll Make this Internship Opportunity Your Own:

Our Cyber Security Summer Internship will help ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all data and systems across GDIT or client organizations. The ideal intern will have knowledge of computer languages and their applications to enable a system to perform specific functions. You’ll also have an interest in understanding the principles, methods, and tools for evaluating information systems security features against a set of specified security requirements. You will work with analysts to understand business processes and promoting data integrity. You will have the opportunity to develop consulting skills, gather and research data, develop analysis as well as contribute to the creation of deliverables.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an associate's, bachelor's or master's degree program in computer science, IT, engineering, or other STEM field from a United States-based college or university.

Requirements

• Pursuing a certification in the field of cyber security (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, Information Assurance, or Certified Ethical Hacker).
• Basic knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in engineering, information systems, and related technical support.
• Basic knowledge of related hardware and software.
• Basic understanding of data manipulation of Indicators of Compromise (IOC’s).
• Basic understanding of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
• Basic understanding of Vulnerability Management (Vulnerability Scanning and Patching).
• Basic understanding of Information Assurance.

Benefits

• Paid and full-time (40 hours/week) for 10 consecutive weeks.
• Minimum of one semester remaining in studies after internship concludes.
• Hourly rate between $22.26 - $23.00, based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
• Full flex work weeks where possible.
• Variety of paid time off plans, including vacation, sick and personal time, holidays, paid parental, military, bereavement, and jury duty leave.
