Role Description

As Senior Database Administrator, you'll maintain, optimize, and support diverse databases including Oracle, MS SQL (Windows), MySQL, and PostgreSQL. With 8-10 years of database design and administration experience, your expertise in various technologies, cloud integration, scripting, and ITIL principles will ensure reliability and scalability. Your familiarity with Oracle WebLogic, OAS OBIP, Oracle Cloud control installation, patching, monitoring, supporting jobs, and Zabbix experience enhances system capabilities. Your role will require great problem-solving skills, leadership capabilities, and the ability to act autonomously within a team environment. Thrive in a collaborative setting, excel in on-call support, and drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Manage, optimize, and support Oracle, MS SQL (Windows), MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases on different platforms.
• Implement Data Guard, compression, partitioning, GoldenGate, RAC, ASM, TDE, and rapid deploys.
• Collaborate on solutions, integrating Oracle OCI cloud capabilities.
• Provide on-call support for database availability and stability.
• Apply ITIL principles for efficient incident and change management.
• Develop scripts (bash, Python) for operational efficiency.
• Perform data modeling, integration, mapping, and capacity planning.
• Troubleshoot complex issues with analytical precision.
• Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
• Utilize Oracle WebLogic, OAS OBIP, experience with Oracle Cloud control, and Zabbix for integrated solutions.
• Enhance database system capabilities based on experience.
• Deliver customer-centric interactions and solutions.
• Demonstrate outstanding problem-solving skills, leadership qualities, and autonomous teamwork.
• Adapt to evolving priorities and manage emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (Master's preferred).
• 8-10 years experience in Oracle, MS SQL (Windows), MySQL, and PostgreSQL database design and administration.
• Expertise in technologies like data guard, compression, GoldenGate, ASM, TDE, and more.
• Expertise in Oracle appliances (Exadata, ODA) and Oracle OCI cloud systems.
• On-call support experience with a commitment to availability and reliability.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (bash, Python) for automation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of ITIL principles.
• Excellent communication skills in French and English, as we work with a wide range of industries in Canada, the U.S. and abroad.
