Role Description

The Cisco UCS platform Expert will provide dedicated full-time technical expertise regarding the Cisco UCS platform and other DC platforms, including VMware Virtualization technologies.

• Represent PG&E as a key contact for product information and provide incident/issue resolution for Tier 1-3 tickets.
• Assist with driving Tier 4 tickets for OEM facilitation.
• Provide proactive information regarding recommended patches, updates, and configurations.
• Execute change events as required by PG&E.
• Provide QBR summary updates.
• Address Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 issues/incidents by creating or working on assigned tickets.
• Submit, monitor, and drive Tier 4 incidents to OEM support (Cisco TAC).
• Provide technical assistance on UCS configuration and architecture.
• Provide technical assistance on other DC equipment as required.
• Build and maintain core technical knowledge runbooks.
• Provide subject matter expertise regarding Cisco UCS Server hardware and various connectivity (iSCSI).
• Provide subject matter expertise regarding Cisco Hyperflex Data Platform, its data writing and reading processes, and data optimization.
• Understand Cisco UCS service profiles and create/manage service profile templates.
• Provide information on Cisco UCS firmware updates.
• Assist with and maintain Cisco UCS backups.

Qualifications

• Very Sr seasoned resource.
• Experience with UCS, VMware, and UCCE (not necessary).
• Familiarity with UCS environment hypervisor.
