Role Description

The Cisco UCS platform Expert will provide dedicated full-time technical expertise regarding the Cisco UCS platform and other DC platforms, including VMware Virtualization technologies.

• Represents PG&E as a key contact for product information.
• Provides incident/issue resolution for Tier 1-3 tickets and assists with driving Tier 4 tickets for OEM facilitation.
• Can provide proactive information regarding recommended patches, updates, and configurations.
• Executes change events as required by PG&E.
• Provides QBR summary updates.
• Addresses Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 issues/incidents by creating or working on assigned tickets.
• Submits, monitors, and drives Tier 4 incidents to OEM support (Cisco TAC).
• Provides technical assistance on UCS configuration and architecture.
• Provides technical assistance on other DC equipment as required.
• Builds and maintains core technical knowledge runbooks.
• Offers subject matter expertise regarding Cisco UCS Server hardware and various connectivity (iSCSI).
• Offers subject matter expertise regarding Cisco Hyperflex Data Platform, its data writing and reading processes, and data optimization.
• Understands Cisco UCS service profiles and can create and manage service profile templates.
• Provides information on Cisco UCS firmware updates.
• Assists with and maintains Cisco UCS backups.

Requirements

• Experience with UCS, VMware, UCCE (not necessary), UCS environment hypervisor.
