Join us at PolicyMe! We're modernizing insurance and we'd like your help. The Canadian insurance landscape has remained largely unchanged for decades and we are in the process of changing that. We're a remote-first, Toronto-based startup with big ambitions.

We’re looking for a thoughtful, hands-on leader to spearhead PolicyMe’s talent acquisition function as we enter our next phase of growth. This is a unique opportunity to build on our strong foundation and shape a high-impact, scalable recruitment strategy. As the Head of Talent Acquisition, you’ll own the full recruitment lifecycle—from defining the strategic vision and strengthening our employer brand to attracting top-tier talent at every level — this means you must love both the strategy and execution of recruitment. In this role, you’ll drive a transformative hiring strategy, scale our team, and redefine what best-in-class talent acquisition looks like in a fast-growing company.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the recruitment function: Guide and support the recruitment team, setting clear priorities and ensuring alignment with PolicyMe’s hiring strategy and business objectives.
  • Owning and optimizing hiring strategies: Develop and oversee structured hiring plans that translate company growth goals into actionable recruitment targets.
  • Serving as a strategic talent partner: Build strong, consultative relationships with leadership, hiring managers, and key stakeholders.
  • Elevating the candidate experience: Craft and oversee interview and onboarding processes that are engaging, efficient, and reflective of PolicyMe’s commitment to excellence.
  • Developing a high-impact, scalable recruitment engine: Design a recruiting framework that consistently attracts top talent.
  • Driving workforce planning and data-driven hiring: Lead talent forecasting efforts, leveraging analytics and recruitment metrics.
  • Optimizing recruitment tools and technology: Maximize the use of our ATS, AI-powered hiring solutions, and other recruitment technologies.
  • Using market insights to stay competitive: Continuously research talent market trends, salary benchmarks, and competitor hiring strategies.
  • Strengthening PolicyMe’s employer brand: Collaborate with Marketing and the People Team to launch employer branding initiatives.
  • Expanding recruitment programs and partnerships: Lead initiatives like university hiring, internship programs, industry events, and community partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading talent acquisition in a high-growth, fast-paced start-up.
  • Full-cycle recruiting expertise: comfortable owning end-to-end processes across a range of functions and levels, especially software engineering.
  • Strategic mindset with strong execution chops: able to set the vision and roll up your sleeves.
  • Strong problem solver and operator: You’re the type of human that comes with solutions to the table, not problems.
  • Data-driven decision-maker: experienced in using recruitment metrics and talent insights to inform strategy.
  • Trusted partner to leadership: skilled at influencing, aligning, and advising on hiring priorities.
  • Deep commitment to candidate experience and building equitable, engaging hiring practices.
  • Team-first leader: invested in growing and developing others while creating a culture of accountability and impact.
