[Hiring] Wholesale FHA Underwriter @National Mortgage Staffing

Role Description

Our client is seeking an experienced FHA Underwriter to join their growing Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of wholesale lending, an active CHUMS ID, strong knowledge of agency guidelines, and the ability to independently manage a pipeline in a fast-paced environment.

• Underwrite FHA mortgage loans in accordance with HUD and investor guidelines
• Review income, assets, credit, appraisal, and collateral documentation
• Issue credit decisions and communicate conditions clearly to internal teams
• Work closely with processors, loan officers, and closing teams to move loans efficiently through the pipeline
• Review and clear underwriting conditions
• Maintain quality, compliance, and turnaround expectations
• Interpret and apply FHA guidelines accurately while balancing risk and customer experience

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of recent mortgage underwriting experience
• Active CHUMS ID required
• Must have personally underwritten FHA loans using your CHUMS ID within the past six months
• Recent wholesale underwriting experience required
• Strong knowledge of FHA guidelines and mortgage credit analysis
• Experience reviewing complex income and asset documentation
• Ability to work independently and manage volume in a production-driven environment
• Experience with Encompass or similar LOS preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Requirements

• Work Model: Fully Remote - US candidates only
• Compensation: $95-115k DOE
• Bonus/Incentive: Tiered bonus plan
• Overtime: Paid overtime eligible
• Schedule: 40 hours per week plus overtime as needed
