[Hiring] Vice President of Finance @ATI Jet

2mths ago - ATI Jet is hiring a remote Vice President of Finance. 💸 Salary: unspecified 📍Location: USA

Role Description

Jetvia is building a next-generation aviation company that is remote-first, operationally complex, and scaling quickly across markets. As Vice President of Finance, you will serve as the company’s most senior finance and accounting leader, reporting directly to the EVP. You will own the full finance and accounting function end-to-end — from the general ledger and monthly close to financial planning, strategic analysis, and executive reporting.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will not only lead and develop a mid-size team of 4–8 finance and accounting professionals, but you will also roll up your sleeves to build models, own deliverables, and drive analysis yourself. The entire accounting and finance function reports to you, and you are accountable for the rigor, accuracy, and strategic value of everything it produces.

You are stepping into a company at an important inflection point — growing headcount, expanding markets, and building the financial infrastructure to support a more complex, performance-driven organization. This role is for a leader who thrives at the intersection of technical excellence and strategic ambition, and who is energized by the challenge of building something great.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA strongly preferred
  • 12+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role owning both FP&A and accounting functions
  • Demonstrated track record owning enterprise-level budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and capital allocation processes end-to-end
  • Hands-on experience managing full-cycle accounting: general ledger, month-end close, AP/AR, payroll, and tax compliance
  • Advanced financial modeling skills with deep Excel proficiency; hands-on experience building and maintaining executive dashboards in Tableau or Power BI
  • Executive presence and communication skills: ability to synthesize complex financial information into clear narratives for senior leaders and boards
  • Proven ability to lead as a hands-on individual contributor — building models, owning deliverables, and driving analysis personally alongside managing others
  • Experience managing or building a finance and accounting team, with a track record of developing talent
  • Strong business partnering instincts — you are a strategic thought partner and an operational owner, not just a financial scorekeeper

Requirements

  • Own the full accounting function, including general ledger management, month-end and year-end close, and financial statement preparation
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and scalability as the business grows
  • Lead payroll operations in partnership with People, ensuring compliance across multi-state and remote workforce models
  • Manage tax compliance and reporting obligations at the federal, state, and local level; coordinate with external tax advisors as needed
  • Ensure tight alignment between management reporting and GAAP financials in close partnership with the broader finance team
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and processes appropriate to a growing, regulated aviation business
  • Own and lead the company’s annual budgeting process, multi-year long-range planning, and rolling forecasts across all business units
  • Build and maintain integrated financial models — P&L, balance sheet, cash flow — that support strategic planning, scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing
  • Drive the monthly and quarterly forecasting cadence, instilling accountability and accuracy across departments
  • Translate the company’s strategic priorities into financial plans, resourcing models, and capital allocation frameworks
  • Support fundraising, board materials, and investor presentations as the company scales, in partnership with the EVP
  • Deliver timely, insightful management reporting packages to the EVP and executive leadership team on a regular cadence
  • Analyze variances between actuals, budget, and prior periods — translating findings into clear, decision-ready narratives, not just numbers
  • Define, build, and maintain key financial and operational KPIs across the business, partnering with functional leaders to drive accountability
  • Own executive dashboards and financial reporting infrastructure, evolving them as the company’s complexity grows
  • Serve as a trusted financial thought partner to functional leaders across Operations, Sales, Marketing, Product, and People
  • Lead financial evaluation of strategic initiatives, new market entries, fleet expansion, pricing decisions, and capital investment opportunities
  • Drive unit economics, profitability analysis, and pricing frameworks to support go-to-market and operational strategy
  • Evaluate M&A opportunities, conduct due diligence, and support integration financial modeling as required
  • Represent finance at the executive leadership level, influencing decisions with data-backed perspective and sound business judgment
  • Lead, manage, and develop an existing team of 4–8 finance and accounting professionals, fostering a culture of rigor, ownership, and continuous improvement
  • Recruit and develop additional talent over time as headcount and complexity justify
  • Model a hands-on, collaborative approach — you lead by doing, not only by directing. You build the models, own the analysis, and hold the pen on key deliverables
  • Serve as a culture carrier for excellence and intellectual curiosity within the finance and accounting organization
  • Continuously improve finance and accounting processes, tools, and technology to enhance speed, accuracy, and scalability
  • Evaluate and implement FP&A and accounting platforms that enable better planning and reporting (e.g., Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, NetSuite)
  • Establish scalable financial processes and controls appropriate to a growing, regulated aviation business
