Role Description
Hello Heart’s finance team has built a strong foundation for planning and reporting. As we scale, the next step is to give our business leaders faster insight, less manual effort and a deeper finance partnership. We’re looking for a hands-on, AI-savvy VP of FP&A to lead that evolution.
You’ll design how modern FP&A works at Hello Heart. You’ll use automation, our planning platform and emerging AI tools to take manual work out of reporting, forecasting and deck-building, so the team can spend its time on forward-looking analysis. You’ll partner closely with leaders across the organization to evaluate investment opportunities, use our resources efficiently, and help us continue to accelerate growth.
This is a chance to build a modern, scalable finance function alongside a talented team. The ideal candidate combines financial expertise, a strong instinct for technology and automation, and the business acumen to be a true strategic partner.
Responsibilities
-
Lead the company's financial planning cycle, including the long-range financial plan, annual operating plan, and monthly and quarterly forecasts.
-
Establish clear operating rhythms, accountability, and decision-making processes across Finance and business leaders, driving adoption of new tools and ways of working as the company grows.
-
Build and maintain the company's integrated financial model, including three-statement modeling, key operating metrics, and scenario analysis.
-
Own bottoms-up revenue forecasting in partnership with Go-To-Market, Customer Success, Revenue Operations, and Data teams, including bookings, ARR, and revenue at the client and cohort level.
-
Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting packages and board materials, and lead financial reviews with executives to explain variances, trends, and forecast risks.
-
Model the P&L impact of business initiatives and provide recommendations that support capital and resource allocation decisions.
-
Serve as a trusted thought partner to the CFO and executive team, translating complex financial information into clear, actionable insight for non-finance audiences.
-
Partner with the Controller on accounting alignment, reporting accuracy, and process improvements that make the close and forecasting faster and more reliable.
-
Lead the selection, implementation, and ongoing use of FP&A planning software and drive automation of budgeting and forecasting workflows.
-
Support investor and lender reporting requests, working with Investor Relations and the CFO on data, metrics, and financial narrative.
-
Lead a small but strategic FP&A team, setting clear standards for accuracy, timeliness, and business partnership, and mentor team members as the function grows.
-
Provide dedicated business-partner coverage for go-to-market, product, and G&A, pressure-testing assumptions and owning the financial story for each area.
-
Lead the move from spreadsheet-based processes to automated, AI-enabled planning, reporting, and board-material production.
Qualifications
-
10+ years of FP&A experience, including at least 3 to 5 years leading an FP&A team in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment.
-
Strong three-statement modeling skills and a working understanding of accounting principles.
-
Experience forecasting recurring revenue businesses, including bookings, ARR, and unit economics.
-
Proven track record of presenting financial plans, variances, and recommendations to executives and boards.
-
Expert-level proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with hands-on experience implementing or running FP&A planning tools (such as Adaptive, Anaplan, or Planful).
-
Experience with NetSuite or another ERP is preferred.
-
Experience scaling a company through $200M or more in revenue, and moving FP&A from manual spreadsheets toward automated, AI-enabled processes.
-
Experience in B2B2C, digital health, or another regulated healthcare environment is a plus.
-
Investment banking, strategic finance, or venture/growth-equity experience is a plus.
-
Strong business judgment, executive presence, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and guide change.
-
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred.
-
Comfort using approved AI tools to improve forecasting, analysis, and reporting, with careful review of accuracy and protection of confidential information.
