Role Description
As a Vice President, Commercial Underwriter, you'll be responsible for underwriting new loan and renewal requests within the C&I industry, specifically for:

Mortgage repurchase

Mortgage servicing rights
-
Working capital lines of credit
-
Other Bank lending products
You'll build internal relationships by working with lending officers directly on credit analysis and loans involving complex structures in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include:

Reviewing loan structure, financial spreads, entity structures, collateral, market data, and industry reports to understand inherent risks.

Preparing recommendations to Credit Administration in the form of opportunity memos, loan presentations, administrative action memos, and annual relationship reviews.

Mentoring junior credit analysts across financial analysis, loan structure, appropriate covenant conditions, internal systems, and identifying risks and mitigating factors to credit risk.

Performing pre-qualification financial and risk assessment for potential financing requests within the framework of Bank credit culture and current economic and industry trends.

Reviewing financial statement analyses, typically involving complex and interlocking relationships.

Gathering and analyzing all information necessary to present a financing request to senior management or Loan Committee for approval.

Attending virtual or on-site due diligences at customer operations or servicing centers and meeting with existing or potential customers in tandem with the sales team.

Providing mentorship to junior analysts by reviewing their credit analysis work, including compliance certificates and minor underwriting items.

Working with internal sales, processing, and treasury management teams to build multifaceted banking relationships.
Qualifications
-
6+ years of related experience.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

Advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and/or other commercial banking products and services.

Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards, and practices.

Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
