Role Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented
Senior Accountant
to join the finance team at Behavioral Health Services. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, supporting month-end close activities, and serving as a key finance partner to other departments. The ideal candidate is hands-on, highly organized, and comfortable working in a paperless, cloud-based accounting environment, with experience using
Sage Intacct
and
Bill.com
.
This is a complete remote position.
Responsibilities

Accounts Payable
-
Manage the full-cycle AP process, from invoice receipt and coding through approval routing and payment, using our paperless AP system (Bill.com).

Ensure invoices are accurately recorded, properly approved, and paid on time in accordance with company policies and vendor terms.

Maintain vendor records, respond to vendor inquiries, and resolve payment discrepancies.

Expense Reimbursements and Credit Cards

Process bi-monthly employee expense reimbursements, reviewing submissions for accuracy, proper documentation, and policy compliance.

Record and reconcile company credit card expenses, ensuring transactions are properly coded and supported.

Month-End Close

Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and reclassifications.

Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.

Prepare flux analysis, investigating and explaining significant variances.

Support the Controller in meeting close deadlines and maintaining accurate financial records.

Cross-Functional Communication

Communicate with other departments in a timely, professional manner regarding invoices, approvals, expense policies, and budget questions.

Partner closely with the Controller on special projects, process improvements, and audit support as needed.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

3+ years of accounting experience, including AP and month-end close responsibilities.

Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct and Bill.com required.

Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, etc.).

Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.

Ability to work independently in a remote environment, with a reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated workspace.

CPA or progress toward CPA a plus.
