Role Description

This role offers a competitive salary ranging from $68,500 to $90,000, along with a lucrative quarterly discretionary bonus plan.

As a Full-Time Non-QM Underwriter, you will play a critical role in ensuring our company's success. Your responsibilities will include:

• Rendering credit decisions on incoming applicants consistent with internal policies.
• Underwriting mortgage commitments.
• Verifying supporting documentation submitted by Mortgage Brokers.
• Upholding our commitment to excellence in service level agreements.

Qualifications

• Robust set of skills and knowledge in real estate lending and loan structuring.
• Familiarity with real estate markets and valuation methodologies.
• Strong understanding of borrower financials, credit risk, and KYC/AML compliance.
• Proficiency in tools like Encompass, Salesforce, and Excel.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of recent experience underwriting non-conforming residential mortgage loans.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with state and federal lending regulations (i.e., Ability to Repay, RESPA, Reg B, Reg Z, Fair Lending, etc.).
• Ability to review complex tax returns.
• Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision and engage with the supervisor to resolve complicated issues.
• Effective communication skills in both verbal and written form.
• Strong time management skills to plan and organize a high daily loan volume.
• Detail-oriented team player able to collaborate constructively with fellow employees.
