Qualifications

• At least 5 years of accounting and U.S. tax experience, including preparation of Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120S
• Strong client advisory mindset with the ability to build, strengthen, and protect long-term client relationships
• Experience working with and advising small business owners
• CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation, preferred
• Experience working in a small CPA firm, preferred
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
• Ability to leverage technology and AI tools to increase productivity and capacity
• Strong initiative, ownership, and accountability for outcomes
• Commitment to a proactive, client-first approach and a well-organized, no-fire-drill work culture
• Willingness to learn established processes and continuously strengthen accounting and tax expertise

Requirements

• Serve as the primary advisor for a portfolio of 50+ clients and provide proactive monthly client communication
• Manage monthly accounting and tax processes according to established delivery schedules
• Deliver financial statements with meaningful insights by the 25th of each month
• Prepare tax projections to support proactive tax planning
• Prepare and review business, individual, and trust tax returns
• Onboard new clients according to established processes before the transition of routine work to a staff accountant
• Supervise, coach, and develop staff accountants
• Leverage technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and increase capacity
• Reinvest time gained through technology and process efficiencies into stronger client relationships and higher-value advisory support
