Role Description
We're looking for a Technical Accounting Manager to be our go-to person on technical accounting research, keeping our accounting policies current, and assisting with complex transaction accounting for the company. This role is distinct from the core close/consolidation function — it's focused on getting the judgment calls right: revenue recognition for complex or bundled hardware/software arrangements, new accounting pronouncements, and one-off or non-routine transactions. You'll report to the Assistant Controller and act as the internal technical resource for the rest of the accounting and finance operations team, as well as a key liaison to external auditors on complex matters.
Given our hardware-enabled SaaS model and multi-entity structure reporting under IFRS, this role has real scope for meaningful technical work — multi-element revenue arrangements, lease accounting, share-based payments, and financial instruments, among others.
What You’ll Do
-
Research and document technical accounting positions on complex or non-routine transactions (e.g., multi-element hardware/SaaS bundled arrangements, contract modifications, new product launches).
-
Draft accounting memos supporting judgment areas under IFRS (e.g., IFRS 15 revenue recognition, IFRS 16 leases, IFRS 2 share-based payments, IAS 36 impairment).
-
Monitor new and amended IFRS pronouncements, assess impact on the business, and lead implementation efforts.
-
Partner with Legal, Sales, and Product teams to review new contract structures and advise on accounting implications before deals close.
-
Work with the Assistant Controller to review technical accounting policies and ensure they are documented, current, and consistently applied across all legal entities.
-
Act as the primary point of contact for auditors on technical accounting matters and complex areas of judgment.
-
Support M&A due diligence and purchase accounting, if applicable.
-
Partner with the Assistant Controller on the practical application of technical positions during the close process.
-
Provide training and guidance to the broader accounting team on technical topics.
Role Expectations
This is a P4 level role. At Solink, individuals at this level are established contributors who work independently within their area of expertise while receiving general direction from their manager.
-
Serves as the go-to resource for IFRS interpretation on complex, non-routine transactions for the accounting team and the entire organization.
-
Drafts technical accounting memos and position papers with minimal oversight.
-
Evaluates new revenue arrangements, leases, or financial instruments for accounting treatment.
-
Own Solink’s accounting policy manual.
What Success Looks Like
-
Solink accounting policy manual is completed and up to date.
-
Clean and efficient annual audit process.
-

Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or CA required (or in progress).
-
3-5 years of accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or large regional firm) experience strongly preferred.
-
Deep working knowledge of IFRS, with particular strength in revenue recognition (IFRS 15) and other judgment-heavy areas.
-
Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate research and first-draft memo preparation, with rigorous review and professional judgment applied before finalizing any position.
-
Experience with multi-element or bundled revenue arrangements — hardware/software combined offerings a strong plus.
-
Strong technical writing skills; ability to produce clear, well-supported accounting memos.
-
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-accounting stakeholders (Sales, Legal, Product).
Preferred Experience
-
Exposure to IFRS reporting.
-
Experience working directly with external auditors on complex accounting matters.
-
Experience in a hardware-enabled SaaS or similarly complex revenue environment.
