[Hiring] Tax Reviewer @Uplinq Financial Technologies

Role Description

As a Tax Reviewer at Uplinq, you're the final technical check before a return goes to the client. You'll review federal and state returns, including returns prepared with AI, and help our preparers get things right the first time. You'll work in Claude, our own platform, and whatever tool does the job better next quarter. If you find yourself doing the same task over and over, we want you to find a way to automate it. Some review experience is essential, but we value tax and AI fluency over extended years in the role.

What you'll do

• Review federal and state returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, and nonprofits before final sign-off.
• Review returns prepared by our team and by AI.
• Use AI tools, Claude skills, and Uplinq's platform to speed up reviews and cut admin work.
• Verify that QuickBooks Online data ties to Schedule L for clients who keep internal books.
• Spot recurring errors and give preparers clear, direct feedback.
• Suggest process improvements and help build them.
• Answer client questions clearly and follow through until they're resolved.

Qualifications

• Tax review experience and a background in tax preparation.
• Daily, hands-on use of AI at work, and interest in doing more with it.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Close attention to detail.
• Coachability and initiative, including asking for feedback and speaking up when something could work better.
• A friendly, professional client voice and strong follow-through.
• Multi-state and multi-entity review experience.
• Valid PTIN required (or ability to acquire one prior to start).
• CPA or EA preferred.

Pay Range

$85,000 to $105,000 per year, based on credentials, review experience, and AI fluency.

Location

Fully remote, US residents only. We hire in select states. Phoenix and Scottsdale candidates are a plus.
