Role Description
Natera is looking for a Senior Tax and Compliance Manager expert to manage and facilitate the accurate preparation and filing of our company’s various tax and compliance filings including:

State and federal income and business tax filings

International tax compliance

Multi-state sales and use tax returns
The ideal candidate is a team player who:

Creates and implements tax plans

Forecasts and works with the accounting and leadership teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, tax savings, and potential areas of risk
The Tax and Compliance Manager will ensure compliance with state, federal, and international tax law through a series of systems, inquiries, and controls designed to ensure accurate, timely reporting. Responsibilities include:

Monitoring current and impending changes to tax regulation

Making appropriate updates to policies and strategies
-
Optimizing reporting procedures and driving the successful performance of the tax function
This role will report to the Corporate Controller.
Qualifications
-
7+ years of experience as a tax manager in public accounting
-
Current CPA license preferred
-
Extensive individual and corporate tax knowledge
-
Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements
-
Familiarity with international taxation in withholding and VAT taxation
-
Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations
-
Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements

Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word), Outlook, gSuite (GMail, Sheets, Hangouts)
Requirements

Responsible for federal, state, and international tax related accounting and compliance, including income, business, sales and use, withholding, HST/GST, VAT, and property taxes

Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of company federal and state tax returns
-
Ensure accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns
-
Prepare adjusting journal entries as needed

Responsible for tax related accounts and reconciliations
-
Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures
-
Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary taxes
-
Manage relationship with third party consulting firm assisting with tax compliance initiatives
-
Plan for and develop overall tax returns and compliance filings calendar
-
Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process
-
Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits
-
Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments
-
Provide support with various internal audits and special tax related projects
-
Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections
-
Occasionally address employee level taxation questions
-
Engage in external audits of internal controls by Big 4
-
Participate in any other related ad-hoc projects as needed
