Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or 4+ years of related accounting experience in lieu of a 4-year degree
• 1-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in financial services, mortgage lending, or real estate
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience with accounting ERP systems
• Familiarity with Campfire, Snowflake, or AI-assisted tools such as Claude and Shortcut is a strong plus
• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
• Understanding of general ledger accounting
• Strong organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict close deadlines
• Previous experience working in a SOX-compliant environment is preferred
• Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and collaboration skills

Requirements

• Capacity to sit for extended periods and occasionally stand or walk
• Willingness to bend, squat, kneel, push, pull, reach, and twist as required
• Capability to lift less than 10 lbs. frequently and up to 20 lbs. occasionally
• Dexterity to type, perform data entry, grasp objects, and transfer items between hands or to another person or receptacle
• Competence in using office equipment, including computers
• Access to reliable and insured transportation during the workday
• Availability to travel to assigned locations, remain physically present, and complete the position's physical requirements

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
• Prepare and post journal entries with proper documentation and support for general ledger accounts.
• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Reconcile bank statements to the general ledger monthly, identifying and resolving outstanding items promptly.
• Review balance sheet account reconciliations across key accounts, including cash, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and intercompany accounts.
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items and discrepancies, escalating issues to senior staff as needed.
• Contribute to the preparation of internal and external financial reports, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
• Utilize Campfire ERP to process transactions, maintain the general ledger, and execute close activities.
• Leverage AI tools, including Claude and Shortcut, to draft reports, analyze data, automate repetitive accounting tasks, and manage workflow deliverables.
• Compile schedules and documentation requested during external audits.
• Maintain fixed asset and prepaid expense schedules, including additions, disposals, and amortization entries.
• Complete ad hoc analyses and reporting requests from the Accounting Manager or Controller.
