[Hiring] Staff Accountant @Algo

Role Description

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for:

• Preparing and posting journal entries and performing balance sheet reconciliations, which may include cash, prepaids, fixed assets, payroll, accrued liabilities, accounts payable, and other month-end accruals.
• Assisting in preparing and reconciling intercompany activities across multiple global subsidiaries.
• Assisting with tax, statutory, and regulatory compliance activities, including coordinating with external advisors as needed.
• Assisting with the monthly and quarterly close process, including meeting close timelines and documenting explanations for variances.
• Reviewing expenses to ensure alignment with budgets, controls, and GL coding.
• Supporting budget-to-actual analysis by identifying and explaining unusual fluctuations or deviations.
• Supporting audit preparation, including gathering support, responding to auditor requests, and maintaining proper documentation.
• Helping maintain accuracy and integrity of accounting systems and financial data.
• Assisting with ongoing process improvements, documentation, and internal controls as the company scales.

Qualifications

• Solid grounding in accounting principles.
• Eager to deepen experience in a SaaS or technology-driven environment.
• Comfortable working with the chart of accounts, preparing reconciliations, and understanding how transactions flow through financial statements.
• Experience with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite or other ERP systems), Excel, and month-end close processes is strongly preferred.
