Role Description
We are looking for an insightful, high-EQ financial professional who can look past the numbers, connect the dots to a business owner's personal motivations, and help them make courageous growth decisions.
-
Step in as the fractional CFO/Controller for a dedicated roster of up to 30 clients (gross revenues mostly under $10MM).
-
Completely remote position with ~60 hours/month of client-facing time (via Zoom/phone) plus independent file prep and internal alignment.
-
Analyze financials to spot trends and risks.
-
Collaborate with bookkeepers to fix messy data.
-
Deliver hard truths to the business owner with a mix of radical candor and humor.
Qualifications
-
A strong financial/accounting background with a relevant business degree (emphasis in accounting/finance strongly preferred).
-
Hands-on experience advising under-capitalized small business owners who aren't financially literate.
-
Ability to explain complex FP&A data in plain English.
-
A massive bias for growth.
-
High emotional intelligence.
-
Confidence to hold clients accountable to their own goals.
Requirements
-
Full-time availability (40β45 hours/week).
-
Not suitable for QuickBooks-only operators or textbook accounting theorists.
-
Must not want to delegate the down-and-dirty analysis to someone else.
-
Not for corporate traditionalists who need rigid, slow-moving structures to thrive.
Benefits
-
$110,000 base salary with performance incentives built to predictably scale you to $182,000/year.
-
Outstanding medical, dental, and vision for you and your family (75% company-covered) + free short- and long-term disability.
-
401(k) match up to 3.5%, pet insurance, and legal coverage.
-
Unlimited PTO, an exceptional EAP program, entirely closed for the week of Thanksgiving, plus one additional mandatory week off per year.
-
Free access to elite personal and professional development programs.
