Role Description
We are looking for an experienced cyber insurance underwriter to join Coalition’s Nordic team. In this role, you will underwrite profitable new and renewal business, help grow our presence across the Nordic market, and build strong relationships with brokers and other key partners.
Underwriting at Coalition is about finding ways to help clients solve cyber risk. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical underwriting judgment, market credibility, and a relationship-driven approach. You will partner closely with business development, security, and other cross-functional teams to deliver thoughtful underwriting decisions and support Coalition’s continued growth in the region.
This is a remote opportunity that can be based anywhere in Sweden or Denmark.
Responsibilities

Underwrite new and renewal cyber business in line with underwriting guidelines, authority, and profitability goals

Evaluate policyholders and risks analytically, including researching exposures, controls, and industry-specific risk factors as needed

Negotiate pricing, coverage, participation, and terms with brokers to grow the book responsibly and profitably

Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and other relevant market stakeholders across the broader Nordic region

Proactively support retention of existing business and development of new business opportunities in partnership with Coalition’s business development team

Monitor portfolio performance, exposure, and capacity, and make informed decisions based on market conditions, loss trends, and underwriting results

Collaborate with Security Engineers and internal partners to assess cyber and technology E&O risks

Help shape Coalition’s approach to emerging threats, marketplace developments, and changes in cyber and technology risk

Support and maintain our effective renewal processes that meet customer service standards and support operational consistency

Contribute to coverage analysis, endorsement drafting, and wording development as a subject matter expert over time

Represent Coalition externally through broker meetings, market engagement, and industry events as appropriate

Maintain a strong understanding of the regional cyber insurance market, competitor landscape, and Coalition’s unique value proposition
Qualifications

3+ years of experience underwriting cyber insurance, with strong preference for experience in the Nordic market

Proven ability to underwrite profitable new and renewal business in a fast-paced environment

Strong broker relationships and established credibility within the broader Nordic insurance market

Excellent analytical skills and sound underwriting judgment

Ability to assess risk exposures and understand how market dynamics, customer needs, and portfolio performance influence underwriting decisions

Strong understanding of the policy administration lifecycle, including information gathering, policy issuance, premium booking, and related processes

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate clearly across a wide range of stakeholders

Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment

Aptitude for learning technical concepts and applying them in underwriting decisions

Fluency in Swedish/Danish and English is required

Degree in law, business, economics, or another relevant discipline

Experience underwriting technology E&O or other Financial Lines products

Working proficiency in another Nordic language

Experience drafting or refining policy wordings and endorsements

Familiarity with broker quote-and-bind platforms or digital trading environments

Cybersecurity knowledge or technical background in engineering, computer science, or cybersecurity
