Role Description
The purpose of the Senior Professional Accountant is to ensure compliance with fiscal standards and departmental procedures by accurately processing, auditing, and reconciling payments and accounting records, while providing timely support and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. This position is telework eligible.

Make sure all payments follow state laws, department rules, and privacy standards.

Enter and check financial records using several accounting systems and software.

Review and audit invoices, vouchers, and other documents for accuracy and proper approval.

Prepare reports, reconcile financial records, and support staff, vendors, and auditors as needed.

Stay up to date with training, help with year-end closing, and handle special projects or other tasks.
Qualifications

A high school diploma or its equivalent AND three years of experience in administrative work, accounting, or auditing.

OR Four years of post-secondary education.

Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.
