Role Description
The Senior Portfolio Accountant will execute, support and promote sound accounting operations and best practices focused on the operation of specific multifamily properties in his or her portfolio on behalf of our client companies. He or she will interact with investor-clients directly, working with Accounts Payable and other Property Accounting professionals to ensure responsiveness to investor needs, the accuracy and timeliness of recording, reporting, and reconciling all financial transactions.
Hours are typically Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm.
This is a remote position - Must live in the following states: CA, WA, NV, AZ, OR.
Salary range: $90K - $95 DOE.
Responsibilities

Compiles and analyzes periodic financial statements and various accounting schedules for review by the CAO, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and/or financial reporting standards.

Makes appropriate journal entries in the general ledgers by checking calculations, reviewing basis for figures, and balancing and reconciling accounts.

Ensures that all client and internal deposits are recorded in a timely manner.

Reviews and reconciles accounting documents, researches, and resolves discrepancies as necessary.

Assists with banking as needed, including initiating wire transfers and ensuring timely approval of outgoing payments.

Manages property cash flow including provisions for property taxes, reserves for replacements, and lender or investor-client-related escrows.

Reviews budget reports and assists clients and other internal departments to prepare annual budgets.

Assists lenders, auditors, and clients with various requests for quarterly financials, external audits, or data for tax preparation.

Reports state and municipal tax returns, i.e.: sales and use tax, personal property tax, and rental unit business tax statements.

Contributes to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.

Communicates with clients, their team members and property investor-clients, as well as PSG team members, key business stakeholders, and others to answer questions, provide support, and ensure timely completion of accounting tasks.

Completes ad hoc financial and administrative reports and analysis as needed, and other accounting duties and support of junior staff as assigned.
Qualifications

3-5 years of property management experience in accounting is required.

Bachelorβs degree in accounting or business preferred.

Must be computer literate including an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and other Microsoft Office products.

Knowledge of Entrata, RealPage, AppFolio or other property management accounting software preferred.
