Role Description

The Senior Finance Analyst, Program Finance owns the financial position of the Enterprise Laboratory Instrument Services (ELIS) program: the profit and loss, the budget cycle, the billing accuracy and the savings the program claims. The seat also owns the arithmetic behind any commercial claim the program makes.

The role reports to the Director of Sourcing and Payments, leads the Finance Analysts, and partners with the Regional Directors of Operations on the regional profit and loss, the Program Analyst on operational analysis, and the Accounts Payable Coordinators on the spend position.

What you will do:

• Program profit and loss:
  • Own the program profit and loss, including labor, parts, travel, tooling and vendor pass-through.
  • Own the monthly close for the program, including accruals, prepayments and reconciliation to the general ledger.
  • Analyze and explain margin performance by region, site and service line.
  • Own the forecast and the re-forecast and explain the variance rather than restating it.
  • Flag margin erosion early, including where delivered scope has grown beyond the priced baseline.
• Billing and revenue:
  • Own billing accuracy against the contractual pricing structure, including named headcount, rate lines and pass-through mechanics.
  • Confirm every billed line traces to a contractual basis before the invoice is issued.
  • Own the billing calendar and the resolution of any client query on a billed amount.
  • Own revenue recognition for the program in line with Renovo policy.
  • Own the commercial mechanics agreed with the client, including invoicing frequency, payment terms and any float position.
• Commercial case support:
  • Own the financial arithmetic behind change orders, material scope changes and pricing proposals.
  • Build the cost basis for a new or expanded scope from actual loaded cost rather than an assumed rate.
  • Own the savings baseline, so any saving claimed to the client traces to a prior contract price or prior labor cost.
  • Model the financial effect of self-perform and RenovoCare conversion, including the step cost of hiring whole heads against fractional demand.
  • Provide the financial view in client business reviews and in internal commercial decisions.
• Budget and planning:
  • Own the annual budget cycle for the program with the Regional Directors and the sites.
  • Provide site-level budget and spend data in a form site leadership can use rather than only report.
  • Own the headcount cost model, including loaded cost, burden and rate build.
  • Support workforce and capacity planning with the cost consequence of each option.
• Leading the function and control:
  • Lead the Finance Analysts, including work allocation, development and performance management.
  • Own financial controls for the program, including approval limits and segregation of duties.
  • Support internal and client audits with traceable financial records.
  • Maintain the documented method behind every reported financial measure so any figure can be reproduced.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in financial analysis, management accounting, commercial finance or program finance.
• 2+ years of experience leading a finance team or function.
• Demonstrated ownership of a contract or program profit and loss, including monthly close.
• Demonstrated experience owning billing accuracy against a contractual pricing structure.
• Experience building the cost basis for a change order, pricing proposal or business case from actual loaded cost.
• Strong modelling capability, and the discipline to show the arithmetic chain rather than only the result.
• Experience with enterprise resource planning and reporting environment.
• Experience in a service, outsourcing or regulated technical service environment strongly preferred.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or business required. Professional accounting qualification preferred.
• Training in GxP, data integrity and client site safety provided or required.
• Financial system and CMMS training provided after hire.

Safety Requirements

• Abide by and follow Renovo safety policies, procedures, and injury and illness prevention expectations.
• Maintain a safe working environment for self and others when visiting customer sites, laboratories, offices, or operational environments.
• Follow applicable customer site safety requirements, OSHA guidelines, and laboratory or facility-specific procedures as required.
• Complete required safety training assignments on time.

Physical Requirements

• Predominantly remote, office-based work.
• When on client sites, presence in active laboratory environments including areas with biological, chemical, electrical and cryogenic hazards.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment when on site.
• Travel approximately 10 to 20 percent, covering client governance, client sites and program meetings.
