Role Description
The Senior Credit Risk Analyst will be responsible for analytics across the wider Credit Risk team, supporting full customer lifecycle oversight across Personal Loans, Motor Finance, 1st and 2nd Charge Mortgages and Green Lending.

Designing, reviewing and optimising applications credit risk strategies, including policy rules, scorecard cut-offs and affordability decisioning.

Managing the ongoing performance of application scorecards, identifying emerging risk, performance drift or opportunities to improve risk-return outcomes.

Supporting the development, enhancement and implementation of new scorecards and segmentation approaches in partnership with Credit Analytics and Model Risk teams.

Producing clear, decision-focused MI and analysis covering application volumes, approval rates, risk performance and strategy impacts.

Delivering insight and recommendations to senior management and Credit Committees, contributing to strategy papers and governance submissions.

Leading or supporting the deployment of credit strategy changes into live decisioning environments, ensuring changes are well-controlled and appropriately governed.

Monitoring post-deployment outcomes to confirm strategies perform in line with expectations and the Bank’s risk appetite.

Working closely with Product, Underwriting, Technology and Operations to support new product launches, policy changes and strategic initiatives.

Helping to continuously improve credit strategy frameworks, documentation and controls, ensuring alignment with regulatory and internal standards.
Qualifications

Strong experience in credit risk strategy or decisioning analytics within a banking or consumer lending environment.

Hands-on experience managing or using application scorecards and credit decision frameworks.

Strong analytical capability, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear strategic recommendations.

Experience producing high-quality MI and presentations for senior stakeholders and governance forums.

Good understanding of the end-to-end credit lifecycle, particularly the front-book / applications stage.
Requirements

Exposure to model development techniques (e.g. logistic regression, machine learning models) and model governance processes.

Experience working with decisioning platforms and strategy deployment tools.

Familiarity with UK regulatory expectations relevant to retail credit (e.g. risk appetite, Consumer Duty, model risk governance).

Experience across multiple lending products (e.g. motor finance, personal loans, mortgages).
