Role Description

We have a Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant position available in Durban North.

SENIOR BOOKKEEPER

Key Responsibilities:

• Full oversight of the accounting function, including:
• General ledger management
• Journals and reconciliations
• Trial balance and monthly reporting
• Stock oversight
• Manage the full-function bookkeeping team and offering support
• Prepare month-end management accounts timeously
• Cash flow monitoring and reporting
• Budgets and cost control
• Handle VAT201 submissions and verifications
• Prepare accounts for audit and manage associated control accounts (stock, fixed assets, etc.)

Qualifications

• Matric Certificate
• BCom Accounting Degree or equivalent Qualification, further Qualifications Advantageous
• Xero Experience Advantageous
• Essential to have 5 - 7 years experience
• Used to working in a business culture that promotes adherence to procedures and controls
• Ability to prioritise & co-ordinate tasks efficiently, ensuring all deadlines are met
• Good analytical & problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and able to produce accurate results
• Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, MS Outlook)
• Proficiency in English & ability to communicate professionally via all business correspondence platforms
• Valid driver’s license with a vehicle available for use during working hours
