[Hiring] Senior Accounting Onboarding Specialist @Uplinq Financial Technologies

Role Description

You're the first person a new Uplinq client talks to after they sign. You'll walk them through setup and get their account live, which includes cleaning up whatever data they bring with them and asking for the data they are missing.

The portfolio is large and always moving. Clients sit at every stage of onboarding at the same time, so you'll be holding several timelines in your head on any given day. When one starts to slip, we need to hear it from you early.

This is the senior seat on the onboarding team. The right person has a magnetic energy making them someone that a nervous business owner relaxes around inside the first ten minutes. We are looking for someone a client still asks for by name three months after onboarding ended. You're smart, savvy, memorable, and excited by helping small business thrive.

What you'll do

• Client onboarding
  • Run client meetings daily to collect financial data and pin down scope.
  • Set up and configure Uplinq and QuickBooks Online accounts.
  • Check the signed proposal against what the client tells you they need on the first call.
  • Keep a high volume of onboarding timelines and deliverables moving at once.
  • Get the documents out of clients who go quiet or push back.
• Technical accounting
  • Troubleshoot setup and data problems with real accounting judgment.
  • Take the accounting calls on the messiest books that come through onboarding.
  • Find workarounds when an onboarding stalls.
• Overseeing the team
  • Review junior Onboarding Specialists' work before it reaches a client.
  • Be the person a junior specialist brings a problem to before it becomes a client-facing one.
  • Hand off the parts of an onboarding that don't need you personally.
• Growing the account
  • Notice when a client needs more than what they signed for.
  • Work with Sales, Initialization, Accounting, and Tax to close handoff gaps.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in a client-facing accounting or onboarding role, at Senior Associate level or above in a public or multi-client accounting firm.
• 6+ years using QuickBooks Online daily, including setup, integrations, and troubleshooting.
• Deep technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience reviewing or overseeing the work of other accountants.
• Ability to manage 25+ active client relationships simultaneously.
• Clients ask for you by name; you build rapport fast.
• Comfortable communicating directly with clients about their needs.
• Recognized when a client needed more than they bought and raised it with them.
