[Hiring] SENIOR ACCOUNTANT - Tax & Assurance @JEFF BAKER & ASSOCIATES, P.S.

Role Description

This role combines business and individual taxation with financial statement preparation and assurance engagements. You’ll manage assignments from planning through completion, communicate directly with clients, and collaborate with colleagues on technical issues.

You don’t need to have every answer. We’re looking for someone who knows how to investigate an issue, apply sound judgment, and recognize when collaboration will lead to a better result.

Depending on your experience and interests, you’ll also have opportunities to lead engagements, mentor staff, and help shape our growing assurance practice.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• At least five years of recent public accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with compilation and review engagements.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial statement preparation, and accounting fundamentals.
• Experience preparing business and individual income tax returns.
• Clear communication skills and experience working directly with clients.
• Strong research, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to manage competing deadlines, take initiative, and follow through.

Requirements

• The ability to reconcile financial records, identify errors, and work through complex accounting issues.
• Experience leading assurance engagements or reviewing staff work.
• Audit experience.
• Work with closely held businesses and business advisory services.
• Familiarity with CCH Axcess, CCH Engagement, and QuickBooks.
• Experience with complex business taxation, real estate, estates, or trusts.
