Role Description
The company is seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented Senior Accountant β SaaS Finance Operations to support and scale its accounting and finance operations. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in fast-paced SaaS environments, enjoys solving complex financial challenges, and takes ownership of full-cycle accounting processes with a strong focus on accuracy, process improvement, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
-
Monthly Accounting & Financial Reporting
-
Prepare full-cycle financial statements and support the month-end close process.

Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial reports and supporting schedules.

Provide variance analysis against departmental budgets and identify key financial trends.

Review Profit & Loss accounts to ensure proper coding, allocations, and classification across departments.

Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
-
Support accurate accruals, prepaids, intercompany activity, and other month-end accounting entries.

Revenue Recognition & SaaS Accounting
-
Own reconciliation processes related to deferred revenue and unbilled Accounts Receivable.

Support accurate revenue recognition for SaaS subscription, usage-based, and recurring billing models.

Assist with complex accounting treatments related to SaaS finance operations.
-
Partner with internal teams to ensure revenue-related data is accurate, complete, and properly supported.

Equity, Fixed Assets & Compliance

Manage equity accounting processes, including stock-based compensation and ESOP-related accounting.

Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, amortization, and depreciation.

Conduct sales tax and economic nexus research across U.S. states and international jurisdictions.

Prepare and maintain accurate sales tax working papers and supporting documentation.

Support year-end close, external audits, and compliance-related requests.

Process Improvement & Finance Operations

Contribute to finance team projects, systems improvements, and operational initiatives.

Identify process inefficiencies and proactively recommend scalable solutions.
-
Support workflow optimization as the company continues to grow.

Independently research and resolve accounting issues, reconciliation discrepancies, and reporting inconsistencies.

Help strengthen documentation, internal controls, and accounting processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with Finance leadership and department heads on budget reviews and reporting analysis.

Coordinate with external partners, including EOR representatives, international tax advisors, and external auditors.

Communicate financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

Support internal teams with accounting-related questions and financial reporting needs.
Qualifications
-
CPA designation required.
-
3β6+ years of accounting experience.
-
Strong experience preparing full-cycle financial statements.
-
Prior experience in SaaS companies or subscription-based business models strongly preferred.
-
Solid understanding of month-end close processes, reconciliations, accruals, and balance sheet management.

Experience with deferred revenue, unbilled AR, SaaS revenue recognition, and recurring billing models.
-
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Ability to work independently, take ownership of deliverables, and meet deadlines.

Strong English communication skills required for cross-functional collaboration.
Technical Skills

Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online preferred.

Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.

Experience with modern finance tools such as Wise, Float, Ramp, Plooto, or similar platforms.

Familiarity with financial reporting, accounting automation, and SaaS finance platforms.

Comfortable working with large data sets, reconciliations, and financial schedules.
