Role Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for GAAP compliant accounting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining the integrity of the organization’s financial data. The role will support financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance processes while collaborating with cross-functional teams. The Senior Accountant will also contribute to process improvements and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with sales tax reporting, reconciliations of large data sets, and treasury management.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or long-term care insurance industries is a plus!

Requirements

• Manage all general ledger transactions.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage and reconcile large and complex data sets to ensure financial accuracy.
• Analyze discrepancies and resolve data variances in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline reconciliation processes.
• Prepare, file, and reconcile sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
• Research and ensure compliance with state and local sales tax regulations.
• Liaise with tax authorities to resolve discrepancies or inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and company policies.
• Support the annual audit process by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Develop and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
• Support and mentor junior accountants and staff as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support company-wide initiatives.
• Complete all reconciliations of large and complex data sets with 99% accuracy and within 8 days of month-end.
• Identify and resolve variances promptly, ensuring all discrepancies are addressed within 8 business days.
