Role Description
The Senior Accountant is part of a finance team responsible for helping to bring specialty coffee and delicious food to our markets. This role acts as a liaison between accounting and real estate (60%) and generally supports the accounting function (40%). This position is remote and will report to our Business Controller, US.
Employees are required to be based within 50 miles of the following established Blue Bottle Coffee geographic location: The San Francisco Bay Area.
You Will:

Be responsible for completing complex accounting tasks related to all areas of the income statement and balance sheet, including journal entries, account reconciliations, preparing reports, flux analysis, and month-end close.

Be the lead accountant for Property Accounting for > 80 locations, including Rent, CAM, Utilities, Taxes, Licenses, Deposits, Prepaids, Allocations, and other accounting areas.

Identify areas to improve & streamline our current accounting processes.

Perform ad hoc analysis, projects, and administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements

3+ years of corporate accounting experience and good knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.

Experience using a variety of software and systems including: NetSuite, Excel, Adaptive Planning, Floqast, Coupa, Square.

Experience performing multi-location property accounting helpful.

Experience working in a multi-location retail organization helpful.

Experience reading and interpreting lease agreements.

Bachelorβs degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience.

Salary range of $115,000 - $125,000 a year.
