Role Description
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including:

Overseeing accounts payable administration.

Preparing and posting journal entries accurately and in a timely manner to ensure the integrity of accounting information.

Executing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.

Developing and maintaining timely and accurate monthly financial reports and statements for management review.

Assisting with the preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP and/or statutory accounting principles relevant to the insurance industry.

Participating in ad-hoc projects, including system implementations, process improvements, and financial analysis as needed.

Utilizing advanced Excel skills for data analysis, modeling, and reporting.

Applying critical thinking skills to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues.

Collaborating with other departments to ensure accurate financial data and support business needs.

Supporting external audit requirements and preparing necessary schedules and documentation.
-
Staying current with accounting pronouncements and industry best practices.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

Acting as a mentor to junior staff, working autonomously, and contributing to strategic initiatives.

Performing other duties as assigned.
This is a fully remote position. Candidates must have dedicated home office space and reliable internet access.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

3-5 years of progressive accounting experience. Experience in the insurance industry is strongly preferred.

Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of statutory accounting principles (SAP) is a plus.

Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex formulas, and data modeling.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in a remote environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-
Experience with NetSuite, Tipalti is a plus.
-
CPA or CPA candidate is a plus, but not required.

Salary Range
$93,350 β $99,100 USD
