Role Description
Mural Health is looking to expand our team with a Senior Accountant. We're seeking a detail-oriented and forward-thinking individual to own our core finance operations while actively building the systems and automation infrastructure that will scale with us. This role sits at the intersection of accounting fundamentals and operational innovation.

Responsibilities

Accounts Payable:

Own the end-to-end AP cycle with a bias toward automation-first design.

Build and maintain smart aging and payment term workflows.

Enforce internal controls and approval hierarchies.

Invoicing & Accounts Receivable:

Own the invoicing process end-to-end.
-
Drive a collections process supported by automated follow-up sequences.

Build and maintain AR reconciliation infrastructure.
-
Produce AR aging and collections reporting through automated pipelines.
-
Maintain daily cash visibility through automated payment receipt reporting.

General Ledger & Financial Reporting:

Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and recurring transactions.

Maintain general ledger integrity and help build control frameworks.

Lead month-end and year-end close contributions.

Support financial statement preparation and variance analysis.

Reconciliation & Data Management:

Design and own reconciliation frameworks that scale.

Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies across platforms.

Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure data integrity.

Build monitoring and exception-handling for scheduled vs. actual payment activity.

Finance Systems & Automation:

Serve as a key driver of finance automation strategy.

Lead or co-lead the evaluation and rollout of AI tools and automation platforms.

Partner with finance and technology teams to implement intelligent solutions.

Build and maintain documented, audit-ready automated processes.

Stay ahead of the curve on emerging finance technology.
Qualifications

4β7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a high-growth or operationally complex environment.

Strong command of AP, AR, general ledger, and month-end close.

Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar).

Demonstrated experience building or improving reconciliation frameworks.

Practical experience with finance automation tools, AI-assisted workflows, or no-code/low-code platforms.

Comfortable working cross-functionally with operations and technology teams.

Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills; experience with data tools like Python, SQL, or BI platforms is a plus.

CPA or CPA-track preferred, but not required.
