Role Description

Under the direction of the Cash Processing Manager and Director of Middle Revenue Cycle, the Revenue Cycle Operations Analyst is responsible for maintaining the integrity of cash for both Boston Medical Center (BMC) and Boston University Medical Group (BUMG). The Analyst ensures maximum efficiency and accuracy of accounts receivable balances through payment posting and credit and refunds oversight. Responsibilities include:

• Monitoring EFT transactions and bank statements
• Posting EFTs and completing manual posting
• Partnering with the Cash Processing Manager and Sr. Revenue Cycle Operations Analyst to correct daily and monthly reconciliation discrepancies
• Performing ad-hoc analytical tasks as assigned
• Acting as a liaison working with staff on tasks related to incorrect posting and researching missing payments
• Functioning as a subject matter expert in small size projects
• Creating a positive, constructive, and supportive working environment

This position will work with other internal Finance team members, Department Administrators, the Treasury Department, third party billing vendors, and internal/external customers.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Business/Healthcare related field preferred or equivalent combination of formal education and work experience
• One to three years minimum recent experience in healthcare cash processing, finance, patient accounting and/or physician billing, preferably in an Academic Medical Center setting

• Superior analytical skills to evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and synthesize into actionable information

• Working knowledge of healthcare applications including Epic, Onbase, Payer Portals, Pay Plus, Instamed

Compensation

Compensation Range: $62,500.00 - $91,000.00. This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. Our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, considering education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they relate to position requirements, as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.

Note: This range is based on Boston-area data and is subject to modification based on geographic location.
