Role Description
The Revenue Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely recognition of revenue in accordance with applicable accounting standards, specifically ASC 606. This position plays a critical role in supporting the month-end close process and maintaining the integrity of revenue-related accounts.

Detailed Contract Review:
Conduct comprehensive reviews of unique customer contracts to identify and assess specific invoicing requirements and revenue recognition schedules.

Revenue Compliance:
Ensure timely and accurate revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 and internal company policies.

Strategic Coordination:
Partner closely with Strategy consultants, Marketing, and the Business Development team to reconcile unique contract data with billing terms.

Customer Interface:
Coordinate directly with customers and the Business Development team to resolve contract discrepancies and manage invoicing.

Financial Documentation:
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations related to revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable.

Close & Audit Support:
Assist with monthly close activities and support internal and external audits.

Forecasting:
Prepare annual revenue budgets and monthly forecast updates by working with the Business Development team and VP Financial Controller.

Policy Oversight:
Maintain and improve revenue accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
Qualifications

Technical Expertise:
Strong understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606 standards, with a specific ability to interpret complex, non-standard contract language.

Tool Proficiency:
Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).

Collaborative Communication:
Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across departments and handle sensitive customer information discreetly.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, particularly when managing varying contract terms under tight deadlines.

An outstanding problem-solver with a demonstrated ability to think critically, plan strategically, and perform detailed data analysis.

Remote Mastery:
Proven experience working independently with a stable home-office infrastructure including access to a private, secure, high-speed internet connection.

Tool Proficiency:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience using the Google Workspace suite in a professional setting.

Communication:
Ability to communicate complex financial ideas via written channels (Email, Google Chat) with high clarity and low ambiguity.

Experience:
2-4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, or related roles.

Requirements

Bachelorβs degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required.
