Role Description

As a Research Financial Analyst, you will perform monthly expense analysis for research activity within Cancer Research, developing action plans for identified variances in collaboration with principal investigators and the research management team. In this role, you will serve as a key member of the pre-award team, supporting budget development, negotiation, and execution for new projects. Responsibilities also include:

• Invoicing and reconciliation
• Processing patient payment reimbursements
• Negotiating and executing contract budgets

This position plays an essential role in advancing the organization’s mission, vision, and values by enabling data-driven decision-making, strengthening research initiatives, and ultimately contributing to improved patient care.

This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working remotely between 8:00 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m., with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week. To be considered for this role, caregivers must reside in Ohio, Florida, or Nevada.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Perform monthly research financial oversight and develop action plans for the variances and issues with investigators and research management.
• Maintain current knowledge of research, financial policies, and applications.
• Monitor for compliance with policy.
• Report any compliance issues to the research management team.
• Provide ad hoc reports, reconciliations, and schedules for management.
• Be responsible for budget development and oversight of research activities.
• Negotiate budgets, contracts, and business terms with external funding agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Five years of experience in Accounting
• Practical understanding of accounting and month-end closing cycle
• Exceptional experience with financial accounting systems and Microsoft Office Suite

Requirements

• Typical physical demands include a high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC.
• Normal or corrected vision, extensive sitting, and frequent walking, occasional lifting or carrying of 5 to 15 pounds.
