Role Description
We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Manager to join the Real Estate team in our Client Accounting Advisory practice.
CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered remote which means it does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a CohnReznick office location. However, as a remote employee, you may be required to be present at a CohnReznick office with scheduled notice for client work, team meetings, or trainings.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Lead and oversee the Real Estate accounting team.

Responsible for client execution and timely delivery of clientβs work product by team members.

Demonstrates ability to independently perform and assist with complex accounting services for clients.

Lead global team with client work and developing skills, providing guidance and training on accounting principles and calculations.

Handle inquiries from clients and/or internal stakeholders, understanding the industry and client challenges to provide solutions and improvements.

Look for cross-selling opportunities to provide value to clients.

Lead complex client engagements for general contractors, specialty trade contractors, and construction management firms.

Advise clients on construction-specific accounting matters, including revenue recognition, work-in-process (WIP) reporting, job costing, change orders, retainage, claims, and project forecasting.

Review and analyze WIP schedules, backlog reports, gross profit fade/gain analyses, and project performance metrics.

Provide guidance on cash flow management, working capital optimization, equipment utilization, and overhead allocation methodologies.

Mentor and develop managers and staff in construction accounting methodologies, industry best practices, and client relationship management.

Timely complete duties associated with managing teams and ensuring goals and benchmarks are met.

Complete duties associated with managing clients, including proactive communications and exceeding clientsβ expectations.

Develop expertise in the use of all technology necessary for performance execution.

Identify areas for process improvement for client work and/or practice operations.

Seek opportunities to participate in mentoring, recruiting, retention, and team-building activities.

Conduct oneself professionally and always show respect to others.

Follow regulations and professional ethics of the AICPA and the state society.

Maintain appropriate compliance with all firm-wide and local office policies and procedures.

Proactively develop relationships and communications with clients, staff, and internal stakeholders.

Solicit internal experts from across the Firm to assist in providing solutions for client challenges.
Qualifications

Bachelors Degree required, MBA and/or CPA license a plus.
-
3+ years of Real Estate industry experience.

Proven ability to drive and lead corporate accounting processes and procedures.

Strong GAAP experience along with hands-on experience performing controllership functions.

Strong Real Estate experience.

Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Project).

QuickBooks, NetSuite, Yardi, and Sage Intacct experience preferred.

Strong project and time management skills.

Accuracy and attention to detail.

Action-oriented (self-starter, team player, detail-oriented).

Must be able to handle multiple priorities and effectively meet critical deadlines.

Significant knowledge of accounting and finance processes and functions.
