Role Description

Are you SAIPA registered with experience in multiple industries and would like to join a Boutique Accounting company? Our client in the Western Cape area requires a professional self-managed certified accountant who is willing to grow their career managing their diverse portfolio of various clients. Afrikaans & English essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant Accounting qualification – post articles advantageous
• Experienced tax and accounting experience in an accounting or audit firm
• Strong written and verbal communication in English and Afrikaans
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Accounting software – Xero / Caseware / Quickbooks
• Confident in client interaction and third-party communication
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Essential to be a target driven reliable independent self-starter

Requirements

• Report directly to the Head Accountant, providing accurate financial and tax support.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships by communicating tax obligations, compliance requirements and key deadlines.
• Process and maintain accounting records for a portfolio of company entities.
• Prepare, review and submit tax calculations and statutory tax returns, ensuring full compliance.
• Compile monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
• Prepare financial reports, reconciliations and supporting working papers for review and audit purposes.
• Manage the submission of tax returns, VAT returns, reconciliations and other statutory documentation.
• Respond to client queries relating to taxation, bookkeeping, financial statements and general accounting matters.
• Administer income tax, provisional tax, VAT and payroll tax requirements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Liaise directly with SARS to resolve queries, objections, disputes and compliance matters.
• Support the achievement of this Boutique company's objectives by contributing to client service excellence and revenue growth.
