[Hiring] Provider Based Analyst @WVU Medicine

Role Description

The primary focus of this job is to provide financial and compliance analyses to support organizational leaders across WVU Medicine. This role will create and compile various reports to support decision-making processes as it relates to outpatient services across the health system. The position contributes to meeting the objective goals of the organization, which include:

• System provider-based strategy
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
• Establishing WVU Medicine as a premier clinical organization
• Optimizing reimbursement in every market

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field

Requirements

• 1-2 years experience in a healthcare setting
• Significant experience with various software platforms including Tableau and Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel, Word, & PowerPoint

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform analysis of information related to new department creation as it relates to CMS provider-based & RHC regulation.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis on clinic reimbursement impact for all hospitals across the health system.
• Respond to requests; explore and resolve problems as presented by Department Leadership, IT, clinical departments, and support staff.
• Interpret and advise key stakeholders on CMS provider-based compliance per 42 CFR 413.65 and alert leadership to any pertinent changes.
• Identify and interpret potential changes or new legislation impacting provider-based billing.
• Coordinate and perform onsite gap assessments for provider-based clinics and RHCs across the health system as needed.
• Understand and educate various hospital and/or system personnel on WVU Medicine best practices related to provider-based requirements.
• Conduct and participate in business meetings with clinical leadership, including creating and improving reporting packages, ongoing support, and project tracking.
• Use analytical methods to ensure reported data is meaningful and accurate.
• Develop technical ability in data analytics using various systems and tools.
• Provide support in problem identification, resolution, and solution design for a variety of business needs.
• Serve as the first point of contact for the department, interfacing with hospital leadership and staff of various levels, with an ability to translate and communicate business concepts into actionable and meaningful terms.
