Requirements

• Completed accounting qualification with articles experience
• Strong written and verbal communication in English and Afrikaans
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel
• Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, and CaseWare
• Solid knowledge of IAS, IFRS for SMEs, Companies Act, and tax regulations including VAT, PAYE and SARS processes
• Confident people’s person for professional client interaction
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Essential to be open to learning and growth

Duties

• Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with applicable reporting standards
• Compile management accounts and financial reports
• Process and review bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
• Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, and income tax returns
• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank, debtor, creditor, and general ledger accounts
• Assist with budgeting, cash flow management, and financial analysis
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
• Liaise with clients regarding financial information and outstanding documentation
• Communicate with SARS regarding queries, submissions, and disputes
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
• Assist with the preparation of working papers for independent reviews and audits
• Review accounting records and identify discrepancies or areas for improvement
• Supervise and support junior accounting staff where required
• Manage multiple client portfolios and ensure deadlines are met
• Perform general accounting and administrative duties as required
