Role Description
The Multi-Family Underwriter will support the acquisition and finance teams and perform tasks such as:

Financial analysis and modeling

Market research and analysis

Due diligence

Investment presentations
-
Organizing and maintaining the acquisition pipeline
The role requires effective communication, both internally and externally, with the executive team, property sellers, brokers, and service providers. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable working in a collegial, team environment with minimal day-to-day oversight. The Multi-Family Underwriter will report to the Managing Director, Head of Affordable Housing Acquisitions.
The Multi-Family Underwriter will join our team remotely from the Philippines and will work during US Pacific business hours.
Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance and/or accounting a plus.

MBA degree preferred.

2-5 years of experience in real estate asset management, finance and/or acquisitions.

Comfort and proficiency in underwriting and analyzing multifamily/apartments/affordable housing real estate opportunities.

Experience with quantitative, spreadsheet evaluations, and/or analysis (return on investment, cash flow, net operating income).

Advanced Excel modeling skills required.

Strong organizational, time management, verbal and written skills.

Strong desire to succeed and ability to work effectively with minimal oversight, while functioning in a team environment.

Ability to generate high quality, error-free work product for internal and external distribution on tight deadlines with minimal oversight.

Requirements

Perform financial analysis and real estate underwriting on potential investment opportunities.

Assist in reviewing offering memoranda and other seller-provided materials such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows.

Conduct efficient and relevant market research and analysis that will be included in presentations to support real estate investment decisions.

Prepare high caliber slide decks.

Assist in property-level due diligence, including lease review/abstraction, rent roll review, loan document analysis, and coordinating title, survey, and third-party reports.

Perform market-level due diligence, including sale comps, lease comps, and investment trends.

Organize and maintain acquisitions pipeline.

Perform administrative support to the Acquisitions and Finance teams.
