Role Description

Care Essentials Home Health is looking for a detail-oriented Medicare Billing Specialist to join our dedicated team in San Bernardino, AL. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement while supporting a mission-driven organization committed to exceptional in-home patient care.

• Process and submit Medicare claims accurately and in a timely manner using billing software
• Review and verify patient insurance eligibility, authorizations, and coverage details
• Monitor claim status, identify denials, and manage appeals and resubmissions
• Reconcile payments and post remittance advice (ERA/EOB) to patient accounts
• Ensure compliance with Medicare billing regulations, coding guidelines, and home health billing requirements
• Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to resolve billing discrepancies
• Maintain accurate and organized billing records and documentation

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medicare billing, preferably in a home health or healthcare setting
• Strong knowledge of Medicare billing guidelines, UB-04 claims, and OASIS documentation
• Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and CPT codes
• Proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience managing claim denials, appeals, and accounts receivable follow-up
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
