Qualifications

Educational background in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or a related field, either completed or currently in progress

1-3 years of relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or a related field

Strong learning aptitude and genuine interest in building a career in accounting, with openness to feedback and direction

Strong attention to detail, with accuracy in basic numeracy and data entry
-
Ability to work calmly and reliably under supervision while managing routine deadlines and a small client caseload
-
Good written and verbal communication skills, with confidence to liaise directly with clients and their staff on routine matters

Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to follow established processes and instructions
Requirements

Previous Australian accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative experience, although strong entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply

Exposure to Xero or similar accounting software

Interest in or exposure to client accounting, bookkeeping, or professional services environments

Your Daily Tasks
-
Manage end-to-end Xero accounting for a small portfolio of allocated clients, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, under the supervision of the Accountant

Prepare compliance obligations for allocated clients, including BAS/IAS lodgements, superannuation, payroll tax, and WorkCover, for review and sign-off by the Accountant

Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for allocated clients and communicate directly with clients and their staff on routine accounting matters

Escalate complex or sensitive accounting matters to the Accountant

Complete month-end and year-end tasks for allocated clients as directed
-
Learn and apply the correct use of Xero and other internal accounting systems and tools

Seek feedback and apply guidance from the Accountant (Team Leader) and other team members to improve accuracy and efficiency

Support general administrative and accounting tasks as directed
