[Hiring] Investment Analyst @Penbrothers

Role Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and investment-savvy Investment Analyst to join a dynamic family office environment. This is not a traditional accounting or bookkeeping role. Instead, the focus is on investment interpretation, comparative fund analysis, and strategic decision support across a diversified global portfolio.

You will work closely with the principal and investment stakeholders to evaluate hedge funds, private equity, and venture capital performance, using both financial analysis and AI-enabled tools to generate actionable insights. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, proactive, and able to think like an investor rather than a reporter of numbers.

What you’ll do

• Investment Analysis & Portfolio Monitoring
  • Analyze performance of hedge funds, private equity, and venture capital investments
  • Track and maintain monthly and quarterly investment scorecards
  • Compare fund performance across peers and asset classes
• Financial Insight & Decision Support
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the investment portfolio
  • Provide clear, decision-ready summaries for investment discussions
  • Translate complex financial data into simple, actionable insights
• AI-Driven Research & Analysis
  • Leverage AI tools to enhance investment research and comparative analysis
  • Support evaluation of fund managers, including risk and performance profiling
  • Explore data-driven insights to support investment decisions
• Portfolio Intelligence
  • Assess performance consistency and risk profiles of investment managers
  • Support benchmarking of funds within the same investment category
  • Highlight underperforming and outperforming assets with context
• Ad Hoc Investment Support
  • Assist in ad hoc financial analysis for portfolio decisions
  • Support ongoing improvements in reporting and analytical frameworks
  • Contribute to building a more intelligent and automated investment tracking system

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM SGT/PHT

Work Set-up: Remote

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in investment analysis, fund accounting, asset management, or similar roles
• Exposure to hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, or investment firms
• Strong analytical and numerical reasoning skills
• Familiarity with financial data interpretation and investment reporting
• Comfortable using or learning AI tools for analysis and productivity
• Strong communication skills with ability to simplify complex investment concepts
• High level of intellectual curiosity and commercial awareness
