[Hiring] International Tax Manager @Hitachi

Role Description

Hitachi is looking for an International Tax Manager to join us on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. The Tax Competence Centre specializes in supporting large-scale international projects such as offshore wind farms and HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) installations. With a presence across multiple continents, our projects require meticulous tax planning and compliance to navigate complex international regulations.

• Collaborate with teams in different business units and jurisdictions to gather project information.
• Communicate with tax colleagues from all over the world to gather tax information.
• Initiate and manage tax consultancy from external providers.
• Analyze tax legislation in various jurisdictions and provide tax advice and support to project teams in various stages of the project lifecycle.
• Develop tax risk mitigation strategies for each project, taking into account business specifics.
• Provide clarifications to project teams and stakeholders on various tax matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, taxation, or related field.
• Experience in international tax planning and compliance.
• Understanding of the permanent establishment concept and risks, international tax treaties, and OECD Model Convention.
• Proven track record of managing complex tax issues across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Adept at explaining complex tax concepts to non-specialists.
• Basic knowledge of VAT and transfer pricing.
• Experience in individual taxation and global mobility is a bonus.
