[Hiring] Indirect Tax Manager @ElevenLabs

Role Description

We're hiring our first dedicated indirect tax specialist to own all things indirect tax globally, reporting to the Head of Tax. ElevenLabs sells AI products to millions of users and thousands of businesses all over the world, which means a large and fast-growing indirect tax footprint: 40+ jurisdictions and digital services taxes on the horizon.

This is a hands-on, end-to-end ownership role. You'll manage the full compliance cycle:

• Filings
• Payments
• Reconciliations
• Journal entries
• Exemption certificates
• Audits

While also building for scale:

• Maintaining tax codes and configuration in Stripe
• Preparing for e-invoicing mandates
• Standing up compliance in new markets as we register in new jurisdictions

You'll be the company's go-to expert on indirect tax — partnering with Finance, Legal, and Product on everything from product taxability and invoicing requirements to customer-facing tax questions.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in US sales & use tax — multi-state compliance, nexus analysis, product taxability, exemption certificates, and audit defense — ideally for digital products, SaaS, or electronically supplied services
• Working knowledge of international VAT/GST compliance, with the ability to own global filings alongside external advisors
• Proven end-to-end ownership of multi-jurisdiction indirect tax compliance — you've run the filings, reconciliations, and audits yourself, not just reviewed them
• Strong systems and data skills: experience with billing platforms or tax engines (e.g., Stripe Tax, Avalara, Vertex) and improving processes through automation
• Comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-moving environment where you're the sole indirect tax owner
• Bonus: experience with US indirect tax audits (state sales tax or gross receipts), e-invoicing mandates, DST regimes, tax engine implementations, or supporting new market launches
