[Hiring] Head of Credit Strategy Oversight @Monzo

Role Description

About the team:

• Our Borrowing (lending) business is growing rapidly across both existing products and with the planned launch of new initiatives.
• We’re looking for a Head of Credit Strategy Oversight to join us!
• Our Credit Risk Oversight team is crucial in providing support and challenge to our Borrowing teams in the first line of defence to help Monzo grow safely.
• You’ll be taking a hands-on leadership role, managing a team of second line credit risk managers and analysts.
• Define and deliver independent assurance and meaningful input to - and challenge of - credit risk management across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Significant practical experience in credit risk management within consumer or small business lending.
• Experience in unsecured, revolving products would be particularly beneficial.
• Data-driven and comfortable defining and interpreting analysis to understand credit performance and trends.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that can be flexed for different audiences.
• Effective leader and people manager, with the ability to build and nurture high performing teams.
• Track record of building and maintaining trusting relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Passionate about technology and what we’re doing here at Monzo.

Requirements

• Experience in using scorecards and NPV models to develop strategies for making credit decisions.
• Ability to think strategically but work in detail with your team.
• Comfortable getting hands-on with data; experience in SQL, Python or similar is a bonus.
