Role Description

This is an opportunity to reinvent the way Canadians access financial advice. Unlike a traditional financial planning role, this position is not focused on selling products. Instead, you’ll be part of a team working to change how Canadians plan and make confident financial decisions, bringing high-quality advice and education to people for whom this traditionally hasn’t been accessible. You’ll connect with Common Wealth members, helping our members build financial security through empathetic planning, actionable insights, and ongoing personal partnership. As a Senior Financial Planner on the team, you will be relied upon to help build out our service offering, grow the practice, and support our members with more complex financial lives.

• You hold your CFP® designation.
• You have experience providing holistic financial planning to individuals.
• You are excited about working directly with clients.

Requirements

• Support the Growth of the Financial Planning Function:
  • Partner closely with the Head of Finance and Strategy and the Financial Planning team to help scale the financial planning offering.
  • Support the design and delivery of a truly differentiated member service model.
  • Contribute ideas and structure as the function grows, with an eye toward member experience, member outcomes, and operational efficiency.
• Deliver Personalized Financial Planning:
  • Work directly with plan members to build and review comprehensive financial plans, with a strong focus on retirement readiness and retirement income planning.
  • Use digital tools to model scenarios, provide clear recommendations, and help members take action with clarity and confidence.
  • Support members across a range of planning needs in a digital-first environment, while maintaining a high-touch, human experience.
• Create and Deliver Financial Education:
  • Support the development and delivery of financial education initiatives, including webinars, articles, and other digital content.
  • Translate complex financial topics into clear, practical, and engaging guidance for members.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, Sales, and other internal teams to ensure educational content aligns with member needs and business priorities.
