Role Description

The Manager, Financial Reporting will lead the South Africa-based financial reporting team supporting the Group Finance function. This role will oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and other reporting deliverables across the organization, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with IFRS and internal reporting standards. The successful candidate will serve as a key liaison with global finance leadership and help drive process standardization, reporting efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Lead and manage the South Africa-based financial reporting team
• Oversee preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages
• Coordinate consolidated group reporting processes across multiple entities/jurisdictions
• Review financial statements and supporting schedules prepared in accordance with IFRS
• Ensure timely completion of reporting deliverables and adherence to reporting deadlines
• Manage tie-outs, reconciliations, and quality control procedures
• Support external audit processes and respond to auditor requests
• Drive standardization and continuous improvement of reporting processes
• Assist with implementation and optimization of reporting tools including Workiva and Sage Intacct
• Mentor and develop team members while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture
• Partner with finance leadership and business stakeholders across the organization

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant / CPA / CA(SA) or equivalent professional designation preferred
• 7+ years of progressive financial reporting or accounting experience
• Insurance industry experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and consolidated financial reporting
• Experience managing teams and coordinating deliverables across multiple stakeholders
• Exposure to Sage Intacct and/or Workiva considered a strong asset
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
