Position: Financial Crime, AML & KYC Analyst

Type: Contract

Compensation: $75–$100/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 15 hours/week

Role Responsibilities

• Adjudicate transaction-monitoring alerts using alert packets, KYC/CDD profiles, and transaction history.
• Document dispositions and draft SAR narratives as needed.
• Review client onboarding and KYC packets for completeness.
• Identify and document cross-document discrepancies and produce remediation lists.
• Resolve complex beneficial-ownership structures. Apply 10%/25% UBO thresholds effectively.
• Adjudicate sanctions and adverse-media hits. Provide short rationales for true matches, false positives, or escalations.
• Triage supervisory alert queues. Adjudicate card fraud and disputes.
• Assess flagged communications against trade records.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on in AML, financial-crime, KYC/CDD, sanctions screening, fraud/disputes, or transaction surveillance.
• Working knowledge of FinCEN, FATF, OFAC frameworks, and SAR/CDD documentation standards.
• Ability to write clear, defensible rationales.

Requirements

• Preferred CAMS/ACAMS or CFE certification.
• Experience in enhanced due diligence, entity unwinding, SQL, or transaction analytics.
• Background in fintech or payments.

Assessment

• A timed exercise involving a mock alert packet, disposition and SAR narrative, a KYC packet discrepancy and remediation list, and a batch of sanctions hits adjudication with rationale.
